Depositions
Depositions are statements taken under oath on a variety of subjects. For the family historian they are as important because of what they tell about the deponent, as they are for the information on which testimony is being given. The deponent often gave his age. Even though the age may be an approximation, it is still a clue. The deponent might give information about his own or other people's arrival in Maryland, past careers, or present status.
